Those of you that remember
the tale of the Tortoise and the Hare will remember that the Tortoise won
the race even though the Hare was much quick. We have tried it and seem to
have the opposite result.
One of us tried shooting
quicker with some misses while the other tried shooting slower to get a
clean stage with no misses. The result was that even though the faster
shooter had misses with the associated 5-second penalty for each miss the
resulting ranking placed higher than the slower, purposeful shooter.
This result might be
inconsequential for every shooter because they may be attending only for
enjoyment of the event. A shooter that is 20 seconds faster than his
pardner can still miss 4 targets and have the same net stage time. |
